Overview

Panasonic Connect North America supplies rugged mobile computing to public sector and commercial operations, with the TOUGHBOOK line of laptops, tablets and handhelds as its core fleet facing product. Models include the fully rugged TOUGHBOOK 40 and 56 laptops, the TOUGHBOOK 33 two in one and the G2 rugged tablet, tested to MIL-STD-810H for drops, vibration, shock and temperature extremes and to MIL-STD-461G for electromagnetic compatibility. In May 2026 the company launched Tough Command, a platform meant to simplify in vehicle technology for specialty fleets and surface real time data across vehicles, devices and infrastructure. Panasonic Connect is the only rugged OEM reseller certified to run and resell Red Hat Enterprise Linux, so buyers can specify Windows or RHEL. The company has served government customers for more than 20 years, holds federal as well as state, local and education contracts, and runs a Grants Support Program offering agencies funder research and consultation. Public fleet references include Omaha Public Power District, which deployed the TOUGHBOOK 55 for field operations, and STAR Ambulance.
