Terms and Conditions

Last updated: September 2026

These terms govern your use of Modern Public Fleet, including our website, newsletters, events, resources, and the Solution Directory. By accessing or using any of them, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Who May Use the Site

Modern Public Fleet is published for public fleet professionals and other business audiences. The site is not directed to children, and you must be at least 16 years old to submit information to us.

Ownership of Our Content

All content published on Modern Public Fleet is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. That includes our articles, photography, graphics, newsletters, research, templates, and the selection, arrangement, and presentation of everything on the site.

The Solution Directory, our events calendar, and our supplier listings are compiled databases. The individual entries and the compilation as a whole are our property, and the effort we invest in gathering, verifying, and organizing them is protected independently of the underlying facts.

What You May Do

You may read our content, share links to it freely on social media and elsewhere, and quote brief excerpts for commentary, criticism, or news reporting with clear attribution and a link back to the original article. You may print or save individual pages for your own professional reference.

What You May Not Do

Without our prior written permission, you may not:

  • Reproduce, republish, redistribute, or syndicate full articles or substantial portions of our content, in any medium.
  • Use automated tools to access the site, including scrapers, crawlers, spiders, bots, or scripts, other than search engine crawlers obeying our robots.txt.
  • Extract, copy, or reuse any substantial part of the Solution Directory, our supplier data, our events calendar, or any other compiled listing, whether in one action or repeatedly over time.
  • Use our content, listings, or data to build, train, or improve a competing publication, directory, database, mailing list, or product.
  • Use our content or data to train, fine tune, or ground a machine learning model, artificial intelligence system, or large language model, except where we have separately and expressly permitted it.
  • Remove, obscure, or alter any copyright notice, byline, credit, or attribution.
  • Frame, mirror, or present our content in a way that suggests it is yours or that we endorse you.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, interfere with its operation, or circumvent any security or access control.

We reserve all rights not expressly granted, including all rights relating to text and data mining and to machine learning training. Where we permit specific crawlers in our robots.txt or a similar file, that permission is limited to what that file states and is not a general license to our content.

Content You Submit to Us

You may send us press releases, event listings, supplier or directory information, article pitches, comments, or other material. When you do, you keep ownership of what you send, and you grant Modern Public Fleet a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty free, perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, edit, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display that material in any medium in connection with our publication and its promotion.

You confirm that you have the right to send us what you send, that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights, that any personal information in it was collected lawfully, and that it is accurate and not misleading. We are not obliged to publish anything you submit, and we may edit, decline, or remove submissions at our discretion.

Advertising and Sponsored Content

Some content on Modern Public Fleet is sponsored or paid for by advertisers. We label sponsored content, press releases, and paid listings so you can tell them apart from our independent editorial. Advertising and sponsorship never determine our editorial coverage or the opinions expressed in it.

Third Party Links and Suppliers

Our content, the Solution Directory, and our events listings include links to websites and organizations we do not control. We provide them for convenience and information. We do not endorse them, we are not responsible for their content, products, services, or privacy practices, and any dealings you have with them are between you and them.

Directory listings and supplier profiles are compiled from public sources and from information suppliers give us. We do not verify every claim a supplier makes.

Trademarks

Modern Public Fleet, The Sightline, ModernFleet, and our logos are trademarks of Modern Public Fleet. You may not use them without our prior written permission, except to refer accurately to us or to link to our content. Other names and marks on the site belong to their respective owners.

Decisions you make about vehicles, suppliers, contracts, budgets, or operations remain yours.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Modern Public Fleet and its owners, staff, and contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business, arising out of or relating to your use of the site, whatever the theory of liability. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site will not exceed one hundred US dollars.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Modern Public Fleet and its owners, staff, and contributors from any claim, loss, liability, or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the site, your breach of these terms, or any material you submit to us.

Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the site, remove content, or decline service at any time, without notice, if we believe you have breached these terms or that your use harms the site, our readers, or our contributors.

Governing Law

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Douglas County, Colorado, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it, and forms part of these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
