New York’s only school bus manufacturer and all-electric school bus pioneer.
Trans Tech Bus manufactures Type-A school and commercial buses, with headquarters and a manufacturing facility in Goshen, Indiana, and was established in 2007. It offers a full line of single and dual wheel models, including what it says is the industry’s only narrow-body dual wheel bus, which gives a dual-wheel bus the width of a single-wheel one for tight urban streets. Its Versa-Track seating system is designed for maximum capacity and layout flexibility, and bodies use pan-formed galvanized steel floors with bolted safety cages. The company ties its aerodynamic body design to fuel economy claims for the class, and it also builds an all-electric eSeries, including the electric SST-E. The SST is its most popular model, while the Trans Star is a 20 passenger dual-rear-wheel bus built on the Ford Transit platform. New York’s Logan Bus Company bought 75 Trans Star buses to update its fleet, ordering through Leonard Bus Sales.
