The National Association for Pupil Transportation is the trade association for the student transportation industry, representing public and private school transportation providers along with the companies that supply them. It is a non-profit 501(c)(6) organisation and describes itself as the credentialing body for the sector, supported by the NAPT Foundation, its 501(c)(3) affiliate. Its stated work is helping members engage in and influence policy making that improves operational safety and administrative efficiency. Professional development runs through certification programmes, the NAPT Leadership Training Academy held in cities including Orange County and Atlanta, regional PDS weekends, and the annual ACTS conference. School BUSRide is its news publication, which the association says reaches more than 20,300 senior school district leaders. Recent activity includes the Love the Bus campaign, the Driven Together public awareness campaign, and a 2026 survey run with AASA and ASBO International measuring how changing diesel costs affect district budgets.
