Champion Bus is a shuttle and mid-size bus brand of Forest River Bus & Van, a Forest River and Berkshire Hathaway company that calls itself North America’s largest shuttle bus and van manufacturer. Its lineup covers the Challenger, the Crusader and the Defender, the last of which is offered on Ford F550 and F650 chassis and on the Freightliner S2C. Buses are built on Ford E350, E450, F550 and F650 chassis as well as Freightliner, in lengths from 20 to 40 feet and capacities from 14 to 45 passengers. Every vehicle carries the five year, 100,000 mile warranty the manufacturer describes as industry exclusive. Forest River Bus & Van has been in business since 2001, employs more than 1,000 people and reports over 100,000 buses built for more than 10,000 customers, with sister brands including Starcraft Bus, StarTrans, Glaval Bus, ElDorado, Collins Bus, Trans Tech, MobilityTRANS and L.A. West Coaches. Chassis partnerships include Ford, GM, Mercedes, Chrysler and Freightliner, and buses are sold through a dealer network.
