Bob Stanton has worked in fleet for nearly five decades. He started in 1977 with Saunders Leasing and went on to hold fleet and leasing management roles with PepsiCo, Penske Truck Leasing and UPS. From 1992 to 2011 he directed fleet management for Polk County, Fla., overseeing more than 2,500 vehicles and 300 pieces of heavy equipment. In 2010 the county’s fleet ranked No. 3 on the 100 Best Fleets list. He then led Hillsborough County, Fla.’s 3,500-unit fleet and served as assistant director for fleet with the City of San Antonio, which ran about 4,700 units. He is a three-time winner of NAFA’s Larry Goill Memorial Quality Fleet Management Idea Award. He is a Certified Public Fleet Professional, a Certified Public Manager and a Donald C. Stone Leadership Fellow. He consults for public and private fleets from Cumming, Ga.
