BESI

Nationally recognized OEM and aftermarket school bus equipment supplier offering upholstery, seatbelts, and securements.

Overview

BESI supplies OEM and aftermarket school bus equipment, covering seat covers and upholstery, seat belts, securements and evacuation products, along with RF heat-sealed and fabricated parts. The company was founded in the early 1970s by Bill Moore, who had handled warranties and parts for school bus garages at a Wayne distributor and started out with a few sewing machines, and it marks 50 years in business this year. It is family owned and woman owned, and operates more than 120,000 square feet across three production facilities and a corporate headquarters, using computerised cutting and sewing. Products reach customers through an independent dealer network and through the distribution centres of bus manufacturers, following partnerships built with Blue Bird, Carpenter, Collins, AmTran, now International Truck and Engine, and Thomas Built Buses. Beyond school buses it supplies RF welded fabricated parts and seat belts to the medical and fire prevention industries. BESI is certified to ISO 9001:2015 and puts the company name, the employee’s name and the date of production on every product it makes.
