Influence the future, strengthen the systems, and ensure that public transit remains a cornerstone of our communities.
Membership association committed to removing barriers to isolation and improving mobility for all people.
The Community Transportation Association of America is a membership association for the agencies and operators that provide community and public transportation, from rural and small-urban transit systems to human-services transportation. Its stated belief is that mobility is a basic human right, and its members are in the business of moving people efficiently and cost-effectively.
CTAA staff analyze legislation, regulations and industry trends for members, track new technology and delivery modes, and run training programs. Its Passenger Assistance, Safety and Sensitivity (PASS) driver training is widely used in the transit industry, and its self-paced online courses cover driver recruitment and retention, front-line supervision, train-the-trainer, conflict de-escalation and understanding passengers who have experienced trauma. The association also operates the National Volunteer Transportation Center.
