Cummins specializes in diesel and alternative fuel engines and generators, and related components and technology.
Cummins designs and builds power systems, spanning diesel, natural gas and alternative fuel engines, generators and power systems, components, and zero emission products under its Accelera brand. The components business covers engine components, emission solutions, automated transmissions and drivetrain and braking systems, and its 2027 X15 and X10 engines pair with a redesigned aftertreatment system. Power generation runs from generator sets rated 15 to 3,750 kVA and diesel engines from 49 to 5,500 horsepower through alternators built under the STAMFORD and AvK brands from 7.5 to 11,200 kVA, with PowerCommand controls, transfer switches and PowerCommand Cloud remote monitoring. Connected Solutions adds remote diagnostics, over-the-air programming and digital service tools including Guidanz across more than a million connected engines, and Cummins is working with Microsoft, Bosch Global Software, ETAS and KPIT through the Eclipse Foundation on an open telematics software framework. The company reports more than 9,000 service locations worldwide supporting equipment through its life cycle. Its sustainability commitment is published as Destination Zero, and it traces its ethics tradition to a founding more than 100 years ago and to former chairman J. Irwin Miller.
