Doran Manufacturing

Family-owned maker of real-time tire pressure monitoring and the Sleeping Child Check Monitor, serving fleets and school buses in 52 countries.

Overview

Doran Manufacturing is a family owned maker of tire pressure monitoring systems and school bus safety equipment, which says it has served clients for 70 years and now sells into 52 countries. Its tire monitoring systems report pressure and temperature on every tire in real time, aimed at preventing catastrophic tire failures, maximising tire and tread life, avoiding uneven wear and protecting fuel economy through correct inflation. Markets covered are commercial fleets, off-road equipment, agriculture and school buses. The Doran Sleeping Child Check Monitor prompts a driver to walk through and inspect the bus at the end of a trip, guarding against a child being left on board. The company says it can take data from a sensor and convert it into whatever format a customer’s systems need, regardless of the integration involved, and it staffs its own field service and electronics assembly. Jim Samocki is president, and Doran holds memberships with the American Trucking Associations and its Technology and Maintenance Council, the Tire Industry Association, the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, the National Private Truck Council, the Truckload Carriers Association and several state trucking associations.
