Skeeter Emergency Vehicles builds wildland fire apparatus in Hillsboro, Texas: Type 3 and Type 4 units in flat-bed, step-side, rescue-side and rescue-squad configurations, and Type 5 and Type 6 units in flat-bed, step-side, rescue-side and patrol configurations, on most commercial chassis. Its Skeeter ATP package adds a six-inch heavy-duty four-link lift, severe-duty shocks and super-single wheels and tires for off-road wildland work, and each build is signed off by an in-house engineer. The company states its apparatus exceed NFPA qualifications tested at the Nevada Automotive Test Center and carries a five-year drivetrain and chassis modification warranty.
