Whelen Engineering Company, Inc.

For 70+ years, Whelen has engineered lighting, sirens & control systems for police, fire, EMS, and fleets — designed and built in the USA.

Overview

Whelen Engineering manufactures emergency warning lights, sirens, and control systems for law enforcement, fire, EMS, DOT, and utility fleets. The product line covers lightbars, surface-mounted lightheads, beacons, scene lighting, and programmable flashers, along with control systems that synchronize and program warning equipment across a vehicle. For municipal fleets, the company packages DOT systems with front beacons or mini lightbars, rear lightheads, and heavy-duty cabling, certified to SAE warning standards by AMECA-accredited labs. The hardware is built for hard service, with stainless steel housings, hard-coated lenses, and oil-resistant cables. Whelen also integrates with fleet maintenance software, including a published partnership with Fleetio for emergency fleet maintenance.
