Masabi

Fare payments platform for public transport: mobile ticketing, mobility as a service, account-based and contactless ticketing.

Overview

Masabi supplies fare collection for public transport on a Fare Payments-as-a-Service model, built around its Justride platform. The company launched the first mobile ticketing application in the UK with Chiltern Railways in 2007 and the first mobile ticketing deployment for a US transit agency in 2012, and now says it is trusted by 200 agencies and operators. Justride is an account-based ticketing platform supporting smart cards, contactless bank cards and mobile wallets, barcode and mobile tickets, and Mobility-as-a-Service integrations through a suite of APIs and SDKs. It comes in an Express tier, pre-integrated with validators, apps, payment gateways and acquiring banks for a turnkey launch, and an Enterprise tier that adds a back office for larger agencies and operators. Features include fare capping, support for cash riders and discounted fares, family accounts for group travel, an optional merchant of record service, and ticket sales through partner apps including Uber, Moovit, Citymapper, Meep and Transit. Masabi works from offices in New York, Denver, London and Cluj-Napoca, and Passenger, which supplies transport information and ticketing to UK bus operators, is a Masabi company.
