Two of North America’s largest commercial vehicle upfitters are merging their operations: Reading Truck Equipment, LLC and Masterack, LLC, both subsidiaries of J. B. Poindexter & Co., Inc., have announced the integration of their upfit businesses into a single organization based in Reading, Pa.

Masterack brings van and pickup cargo management products to the combined entity, including shelving, partitions, ladder racks and cargo management systems built across more than 50 years of production. Reading Truck Equipment contributes its nationwide network of upfit, installation, parts and service locations. The combined organization will also assume responsibility for the BEDSLIDE® product line, covering manufacturing, sales and customer support.

Masterack will continue operating as a named brand within the structure, retaining its product portfolio and customer relationships. Existing sales and support contacts will remain in place for both brands.

“Bringing Masterack and Reading Truck Equipment together represents a significant step in strengthening our position as a leader in the commercial vehicle upfit industry,” said Norb Markert, Interim President of Reading Truck Equipment. “By combining our complementary capabilities, nationwide footprint and deep product expertise, we’re creating an organization that delivers more value to our customers through broader solutions, greater accessibility and a better overall experience.”

The companies did not disclose financial terms of the integration, a combined facility count or a target completion date for the operational consolidation.
