Overview

Reading Truck designs and builds work truck bodies, and has done so since 1955, when Irving Suknow opened Reading Body Works to help contractors organise tools, equipment and inventory. Its lineup covers service bodies, enclosed bodies, crane bodies, aerial bodies, dump and landscape bodies, and hauler and platform bodies, alongside a combo body pairing service body storage with an open platform. The company also upfits and maintains trucks and supplies parts, working through 26 locations plus a national network of distribution partners, and sells storage solutions including drawer units, side boxes, tool boxes, partitions, racking, shelves and van interiors. Its history includes testing and developing the first all-aluminium truck body in 1981 for northern climates, the first full-body immersion E-coat priming system in 1988, and keyless locking in 1995. Reading Truck was acquired in 2015 by J.B. Poindexter & Co, whose other units include Morgan Truck Body, Morgan Olson and Masterack. The company markets directly to public works fleets and exhibits at PWX.
