Circuit Commander builds configurable electrical protection systems for fleet and specialty vehicles
Circuit Commander builds configurable electrical protection systems for fleet and specialty vehicles from its base in Reno, Nevada. The company defines what it calls the vehicle electrical protection layer, the point between the battery and downstream distribution hardware that determines how power enters a vehicle and how faults are handled before they reach installed equipment. Its argument is that this layer has historically been fixed fuses, relays and breakers that react only after a fault, cannot be changed after installation and leave no record, which is why problems such as dead batteries and breaker trips after upfit recur across otherwise identical vehicles. Circuit Commander’s approach makes protection behavior observable, so events leave a diagnostic record, and configurable by policy so it adapts to vehicle role, load profile and operating environment without rewiring hardware. Battery Commander is a named product in the line. The company was founded by Joe Chambers and states that it is currently working with a small group of engineering collaborators on early platform architecture and prototype development.
