Custom fire apparatus and utility trucks built in Quebec since 1983, serving Canada's largest departments, with Pierce partnership lines for US dealers.
MAXIMETAL has designed and manufactured custom fire apparatus and utility trucks in Saint-Georges de Beauce, Quebec since 1983, delivering thousands of units across Canada and the United States. Maxi Fire trucks serve some of Canada’s largest departments, including Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, and Longueuil, while Maxi Utility trucks are run by Hydro-Quebec, Gaz Metro, Rio Tinto, CN, and Bell Canada. A partnership with Pierce Manufacturing that began in 2015 produced the MAXI Saber for Canadian Pierce dealers and the CONTENDER line of enclosed top-mount pumpers and pump-in-compartment tankers for U.S. dealers. Oshkosh Corporation acquired the company in June 2022, placing it in the Fire & Emergency segment, and more than 85 employees, many of them part-time and volunteer firefighters, build the trucks.
