Family-owned emergency vehicle maker since 1946, building Classic and Medallion ambulances, Rescue 1 vehicles and remounts, on Sourcewell.

Overview

PL Custom Emergency Vehicles has designed and manufactured emergency vehicles since 1946, when Martin V. Smock founded the company in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey. Now based in Manasquan and still family owned under Smock’s daughter Deborah Smock Thomson, PL Custom builds Type I Classic and Type III Medallion ambulances, the medium duty Titan, rescue vehicles under the Rescue 1 name, conversion vehicles and body remounts, with standard stock units available.
