Stepp Manufacturing

Asphalt maintenance equipment, family owned and managed since 1942.

Overview

Stepp Manufacturing has been family owned and managed since 1942 and builds equipment that heats, melts, transports and stores asphalt and bitumen for highway maintenance: hot box trailers, slip-in hot boxes, patch trucks, asphalt recyclers, OJK-H and OJK-V crack sealers, mastic patching units, and oil distributors from small tack trailers to trailer distributors with 8- or 12-foot spray bars.

Its asphalt recyclers use an indirect heating system and pugmill-style mixers to produce patching material on the road, which the company puts at under $20 per ton. Stepp designs with 3D CAD and has in-house engineering, so it can custom-build to an agency’s specification, and it also makes storage tanks and kettles for roofing materials.
