VBOX Automotive

RACELOGIC designs and manufactures electronic systems to measure, record, display, analyze, and simulate data from moving vehicles.

Overview

VBOX Automotive is the vehicle testing arm of RACELOGIC, which designs and manufactures GNSS, inertial navigation and indoor positioning systems that measure, record, display, analyse and simulate data from moving vehicles. The first VBOX data logger launched in 1992 and more than 10,000 systems have been sold, with customers including most automotive OEMs and proving grounds. The VBOX 3i is its established GPS measurement system for brake and tyre testing, available with single or dual antennas and with RTK for centimetre-level accuracy; the VBOX 4 builds on it, and the VBOX 3iS combines GNSS, inertial and CAN wheel speed data to hold accuracy in poor GNSS conditions. For indoor work the VBOX Indoor Positioning System measures 3D position, speed and attitude to centimetre level at 100 updates a second, while the VBOX Precision Ranging System uses ultra-wideband to measure the distance between two objects. Named applications are ADAS and autonomous vehicle testing, brake and tyre testing, vehicle dynamics including ESC and aquaplane work, pass-by noise to ISO 362, and acceleration and coastdown performance testing. The company provides ISO 17025 calibration for its data loggers and speed sensors, and free VBOX Test Suite analysis software with more than 25 application-specific plugins.
