NAFA Fleet Safety Awards for 2026 went to five fleets at the program’s top Platinum tier, with public-sector fleets well represented across the Gold, Silver and Bronze categories.

NAFA said its award criteria, developed by fleet safety professionals, evaluate the strength, maturity and effectiveness of fleet safety programs across multiple dimensions, including leadership support, consistent policies, training, accountability and measurable results. Each tier carries a defined standard: Platinum recognizes comprehensive, well-established programs with documented continuous improvement; Gold recognizes exceptionally strong, mature programs; Silver recognizes well-developed programs with an established commitment to safety performance; and Bronze recognizes organizations that have built the essential foundations of an effective program and demonstrated a meaningful commitment to improvement.

Public-sector fleets are well represented across the award tiers, accounting for the majority of Gold honorees and appearing at every level from Gold through Bronze.
