Heil Introduces Common Body Platform for DuraPack Python and Half/Pack Refuse Trucks

Shared components across two popular rear-loader models aim to simplify parts and maintenance for fleet shops.

Heil, part of Environmental Solutions, a Terex brand, has introduced a Common Body platform spanning its DuraPack Python automated side loader (ASL) and Half/Pack front loader (FEL) lines, with the 2026 DuraPack Python available for order now and the Half/Pack model to follow in mid-2026.

More than 44% of components are shared between the two models. The platform also eliminates a minimum of 66% of in-cab buttons, replacing them with a single display and integrated diagnostics. The 3rd Eye camera and light system is built directly into the body rather than mounted externally, and the Shur-Lock tailgate system is now integrated into the tailgate bolster for improved reliability and ground-level maintenance access.

Heil says the shared structure reduces parts inventory requirements and training time, and that standardizing components allows the company to respond faster to delivery timelines. Common controls across both body types are designed to let operators switch between routes without relearning cab layouts.

The cab interface was developed with driver feedback and features an ergonomic control layout. Integrated diagnostics and the consolidated display are intended to reduce service time and improve uptime across both body types.

Pricing for the Common Body platform was not disclosed.
