New Lone Tree, Colo. Public Works Site to Meet Growing Demand
Colorado city marks completion of a new home for its public works operations.

Lone Tree, Colo., has opened a new public works facility designed to consolidate fleet maintenance, street crews, traffic signal operations and stormwater staff under one roof.
City officials said the building centralizes maintenance, administrative and operations staff while expanding dedicated space for fleet vehicles, equipment and material storage. The layout is intended to improve workflow and coordination across those groups.
The facility covers street maintenance, traffic signals, stormwater systems and city vehicle upkeep. Officials said consolidating those functions in a single location is expected to improve the city’s response to weather events, including snow removal and traffic operations.
Mayor Marissa Harmon framed the project as both a service delivery and capacity decision tied directly to growth. “This facility is an important investment in service delivery our residents, businesses and visitors rely on every day,” Harmon said. “As Lone Tree continues to grow, so has the work required to maintain our community. This gives our Public Works team the space and resources they need to continue providing the high level of service our community expects now and in the future.”
The city did not disclose the construction cost or contract value for the facility.
The public works building is one of two major city projects opening this summer. Lone Tree is also preparing to open a new Justice Center that will house the Lone Tree Police Department and Municipal Court.
The Justice Center is scheduled to open in September.
