Certified Equipment Manager (CEM)
The AEMP credential for managers of heavy off-road equipment fleets, including municipal and government ones. Requires documented experience as well as an examination.
CEM is the AEMP credential for equipment management, aimed at heavy off-road fleets rather than light vehicles, and explicitly covering municipal and government fleets.
It carries an experience requirement as well as an examination, which is the practical difference from a purely examined credential: it cannot be obtained by study alone.
For a public works fleet where a large share of the asset value is loaders, excavators and attachments rather than trucks, it addresses the part of the operation a vehicle-oriented credential largely skips.
