Incident investigations in public fleets typically pull data from multiple disconnected systems, leaving safety managers, insurance providers and legal teams working from fragmented records. Geotab announced Aug. 11 that its answer is Geotab Investigations, a unified platform that consolidates telematics data into a single, time-aligned record of vehicle and driver behavior for use across operational, safety, compliance and liability reviews.
“Fleet-related incidents have cost companies billions of dollars in litigation and reputational damage, largely because critical data remains siloed,” said Sabina Martin, Vice President of Product Management at Geotab. “Geotab Investigations changes this by turning raw data into a structured, defensible system of record, providing fleet managers with the intelligence to mitigate risk and the evidence to protect their drivers, operations and bottom line.”
The platform draws on existing telematics data already collected through Geotab’s connected-vehicle infrastructure to build a centralized investigation workflow. Its design targets faster incident resolution and reduced manual effort, with records structured to support consistent, defensible decision-making. Geotab said the tool also benefits drivers directly, as investigations grounded in accurate data reduce the risk of incorrect fault attribution.
Geotab serves more than 100,000 customers spanning small and mid-size fleets, Fortune 500 enterprises and public-sector organizations including the U.S. federal government, connecting approximately 6 million vehicles and assets and processing 100 billion data points daily. The company holds ISO/IEC 27001:2022, SOC2, FIPS 140-3 and FedRAMP authorizations.
Geotab said additional detail on Geotab Investigations is available through its website.
