Fleetio Expands AI Service Advisor to Cut Repair Turnaround by 2.5 Hours

The AI-driven maintenance triage and work order tool built on 14 years of proprietary fleet data is now generally available to all customers of Fleetio, the fleet maintenance and optimization platform, following a six-month open beta in which it assessed more than $1.4 billion in maintenance spend.

“The fact that I don’t have to go line by line on every work order is huge. AI Service Advisor is incredible because there’s absolutely no way one person can catch everything,” said Jill Perry, fleet administration manager at Ramos Oil. “By automatically flagging items that require a deeper dive, Service Advisor just makes my life so much easier and less time-consuming. That alone easily saves me an hour and a half a day, which can add up to about 400 hours a year saved.”

Fleetio’s AI Service Advisor performs five discrete functions across the maintenance workflow. It drafts work orders from incoming maintenance signals so teams open a repair with a recommended plan already in place. It assesses in-progress work against fleet history, costs, warranty opportunities and maintenance patterns to surface jobs that warrant a closer look and identify bundling opportunities. It prioritizes issues by operational impact. It automatically resolves eligible issues and advances low-risk approvals within fleet-defined policies to cut manual follow-up. And it closes routine post-service follow-up and keeps maintenance records current. The platform currently resolves more than 2,000 maintenance issues each month through those automated steps.

During the beta period, assets returned to service an average of 2.5 hours faster per repair. One in three fleets on the Fleetio platform is now using AI to prioritize work, according to the company. The intelligence behind the tool draws on 14 years of maintenance data covering millions of assets and tens of millions of repair orders.

It should understand the context behind a decision, apply what it has learned from years of operational data, and help determine the right action in the moment,” said Jorge Valdivia, chief technology officer at Fleetio. “AI Service Advisor brings that intelligence directly into the maintenance workflow by automating routine decision-making to help fleets focus on the situations that require experience, ultimately driving real cost savings.”

Fleetio said additional AI capabilities will expand across the platform over the coming year; fleet managers retain control over which decisions move automatically.
