Federal and state fleet managers shopping for a cloud-based fleet management platform now have a FedRAMP-authorized option listed in the FedRAMP Marketplace: Agile Fleet’s FleetCommander, a fleet management information system (FMIS) built on AWS GovCloud (US).
FleetCommander inherits NIST 800-53 controls, ships with a complete system security plan and plan of action and milestones, and supports continuous monitoring. The platform has also been listed in the VA Marketplace, and Agile Fleet said it integrates with FedRAMP-authorized telematics systems.
Continuous vulnerability scanning and third-party assessment organization-verified assessments run in AWS GovCloud. Automated monitoring, logging and updates are built in to keep agencies audit-ready, and the architecture is rated for low, moderate and high-impact agency fleets.
On the compliance side, the FedRAMP authorization supports an agency’s authority to operate process but does not replace it. Agile Fleet provides the inherited controls documentation, artifacts and monitoring outputs that an information system security officer and authorizing official would expect during a security review. Federal use of the platform generally requires agency sponsorship.
Forsyth County, North Carolina, saved $800,000 by using FleetCommander to rightsize its fleet, restructure key management and reduce reimbursements for personally owned vehicle use.
Agile Fleet also points to Fairfax County, Virginia, as a reference customer for streamlining fleet management operations on the platform, though the company did not attach a dollar figure to that deployment.
Migration to FleetCommander is supported by specialists experienced in FedRAMP projects, with the company saying the transition is designed to run without operational disruption.
