Eric Bearly has spent 25 years in fleet media and marketing, and the part he cares about most is the people and relationships. In 2008 he founded the Government Fleet Expo & Conference (GFX), building it from a one-page plan into the national gathering place for public sector fleet leaders, and led it for 15 years. Along the way he served as publisher of Government Fleet magazine, President of Bobit's Fleet Group, and Chief Revenue Officer of Bobit. In 2023 he founded Protean, a marketing agency built to help fleet solution providers connect, grow and add more value within the industry. In 2026 he launched Modern Public Fleet, an independent digital resource for the public fleet community. No agendas, no politics, just fleet pros sharing with fleet pros. He's a car guy at heart. But after 25 years, what keeps him here isn't the vehicles. It's the friendships built one shop visit, conference hallway and lunch at a time.
