Three hours saved per 10 repair transactions is the figure Fleetio is leading with as the Birmingham, Ala.-based software company launches Fleet Map, a map-based asset visibility tool built into its existing fleet maintenance platform.
“Fleetio keeps evolving and adding capabilities that help us manage the fleet more effectively,” said Dustin Palmer, fleet manager at the City of The Colony, Texas. “Fleet Map adds another layer of visibility to the maintenance data we already manage in Fleetio, so when an issue comes up, we can quickly see where an asset is and make better service decisions, all in one place.”
Fleet Map pulls asset locations, job sites, maintenance status and nearby service options into a single view inside Fleetio’s platform. The time savings figure is tied to automated approvals within Fleetio’s Maintenance Shop Network, which the company puts at more than 110,000 repair shops.
Fleetio positions the tool as a fix for a common coordination problem: asset location, service history and vendor contacts spread across telematics platforms, spreadsheets and phone calls. When a vehicle goes down in the field, shop teams have typically been burning time confirming location and history before any repair coordination begins.
The feature is available now to all Fleetio customers. Fleetio says its platform currently supports more than 8 million vehicles across more than 8,500 fleets in over 100 countries and processes more than 80 million repair orders through its shop network.
Pricing and tier eligibility for Fleet Map access were not disclosed.
