American Public Works Association (APWA)
A membership association for public works professionals, of which fleet is one service area. Issues the Certified Public Fleet Professional credential.
APWA covers public works as a whole, which is to say streets, water, solid waste, facilities and fleet, so a fleet manager sits inside a much wider membership.
Its relevance to fleet is that the CPFP is the one widely recognized certification written specifically for PUBLIC fleet rather than for fleet generally. Where a general credential treats government as one sector among several, the CPFP treats it as the subject, which is why its content outline is a reasonable statement of what this job actually requires.
