Certified Public Fleet Professional (CPFP)

The APWA credential for public fleet managers. The certification written specifically for government fleet rather than fleet in general.

The CPFP is the APWA credential for public fleet professionals, assessed by examination against a published content outline.

Its five domains are a fair description of the job: financial management, fleet operations, project management, data and asset management, and risk mitigation. The weighting is worth noticing, because financial management and fleet operations together account for around half the examination, which matches where a public fleet manager time actually goes rather than where a technical background would expect it to.

For anyone deciding between credentials, the distinction is scope rather than quality: this one assumes a government context throughout.
