Mission, B.C. Expands Snow Fleet and Routes for Improved Winter Response
City adds vehicles and coverage areas ahead of winter season

Four new trucks added to Mission, B.C.’s snow fleet have pushed plowing capacity on key corridors from two plows to five, the city announced ahead of the winter season.
Public Works crews will be able to cover significantly more ground within the same timeframe during snow events, according to the city.
Mission is also integrating GPS technology across the trucks and other winter operations equipment to support resource management, situational awareness and decision-making during snow and ice events.
When roads are clear, the new trucks will be folded back into the general fleet for year-round use.
“As our community grows, so does the amount of roadway we need to keep clear,” said Mayor Paul Horn. “This new equipment is an investment in keeping Mission moving that will allow us to clear more of our streets in the same amount of time.”
“Winter weather is never easy, but I’m really proud of the investments we’ve made to keep Mission moving and people safe,” said Jag Gill, a city councillor. “With four new snowplow trucks, additional equipment, and expanded priority routes, our crews are better prepared than ever to respond quickly and cover more ground across the city.”
