Kubota Introduces WorkSmart Autosteer for Compact and Utility Equipment
The $6,000 precision guidance system extends autopilot-style steering to compact tractors and turf machines

Kubota Tractor Corporation has launched WorkSmart Autosteer, a precision guidance system priced at $6,000 MSRP and compatible with select Kubota compact tractors, mowers and RTVs, both new and used.
The system offers two accuracy tiers. The base level uses SBAS/WAAS correction and delivers 6-to-8 inch pass-to-pass accuracy with no subscription fee. The second tier uses PPP correction for 1-inch accuracy and carries a $1,250 annual subscription. Installation is not included in the $6,000 price, and dealers set actual retail price.
Authorized Kubota dealers install the system in approximately two hours and conduct an operator training session at the same visit. The system runs through a WorkSmart Autosteer app available for iOS and Android devices, with calibration guides and tutorials accessible through the app.
“WorkSmart Autosteer isn’t about removing the operator from the decision; it’s about helping to remove fatigue and error from the equation,” said Austin Hawkins, Senior Manager, Technology Sales and Marketing, Kubota North America. “At your command, the machine holds the line, so you stay sharp, cover more ground and still get home with something left for the people who matter most.”
Kubota positioned the product against third-party precision guidance kits, which the company said have historically been engineered for full-size row-crop tractors. WorkSmart Autosteer is engineered for the specific model on which it is installed, and sale, installation, service, warranty and financing run through a single dealer relationship. The system is backed by a two-year limited warranty and is available for financing through Kubota Credit Corporation to qualified buyers.
Compatible applications include seeding and planting, tillage and cultivation, hay operations, spraying and spreading, mowing, road grading and orchard and vineyard work.
“We installed WorkSmart Autosteer with two different customers,” said Tom Butner of Marshall Service Company in Marshall, Mo. “One is using the system for general row crop farming and the other in his hay production operation, and the steering performance has been excellent. What really sold them is how easy it is to operate, even for operators who have never used precision guidance before.”
The system made its public debut at the Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa. It is available now at authorized Kubota dealers.
