John Deere has refreshed its Z700 ZTrak Mid-Duty Commercial Mower lineup with new Kawasaki FX engines, 7-Iron PRO decks and expanded warranty coverage, with the updated models set to reach dealers in October 2026.
The refreshed series spans four machines across two sub-lines: the Z720M and Z740M in the M-Series and the Z740R and Z760R in the R-Series. All four carry the 7-Iron PRO mower deck, a 7-gauge shell design also used on Deere’s Z900 lineup, with a reinforced trim edge and discharge chute, cast aluminum spindles and repositioned anti-scalp wheels. Kawasaki FX engines are paired with upgraded Hydro-Gear transmissions on every model. M-Series units top out at 9.5 mph; R-Series units reach 10 mph.
R-Series models now carry a four-year or 1,200-hour warranty, an expansion Deere is positioning as the primary differentiator for that sub-line, which is aimed at professional landscape contractors seeking commercial-grade capability at a lower entry price. M-Series machines are positioned toward large property owners, including parks and grounds operations, where ease of ownership is the stated priority.
“Our Z700 lineup brings together many of the features our professional landscaping customers value most while also maintaining their simplicity and reliability, which operators have come to expect from a John Deere machine,” said Luke Gribble, Deere’s marketing manager. “The refreshed Z700 lineup delivers the combination of capability, durability and value our customers have been asking for in a mid-duty mower.”
The updated Z700 ZTrak models will be on display at EQUIP Exposition in Louisville, Ky., ahead of their October 2026 dealer availability.
